Vlkov sand dune

A unique desert-like biotope in the Czech Republic, with an area of less than one hectare. The area is sometimes called the Czech Sahara.

Vyšehrad cemetery and the Slavín tomb

Important monument of Czech burial culture. It has been regarded as the burial place of the national elite since the end of the 19th century. Its importance for Czech culture is comparable to Novodevichy cemetery in Moscow or the Parisian cemetery Pére Lachaise.


A word from the so-called Horácko dialect, originally with a zoological meaning (“frog”), that denotes a young girl.
